I have 2 boys and my oldest has ADHD VERY bad. I have them in a home based daycare. Well she is watching one of her friends kids FREE of charge I might add and one of my sons is and has had problems with this other child. The other day they were talking and my son said to him and I quote "My friend has that same game and he is colored like you" Well my daycare provider went off on my son calling him a racist. I was floored!!!
She went on to tell me that in her house you don't say colored.. Now her family is mixed and I have no problem with that and my kids don't either. Just a little note she has been watching my kids for over 2 years now. She went on to tell me that in her house it is Malono (sp). One how would my child know this unless she told him from the beinging and I don't think someone should be able to bistow thier beliefs on kids that are in thier care just for a few hors day. My child IS NOT racist what so ever. He had never heard that word until she called him that. I have always heard him say brown because that what he sees.
Also he does not always give him his meds like she is suppose to. When I get to the house she will she oh I forgot to give him his medicine and not think twice about it and I have said something many times that she nees to give it to him. he needs it.
i want to take him out because I am just so upset with this but i signed a contract and i don't know if she can do anything if I do take them out..

This is never a great situation to be in. I'm in a simular place myself very unhappy with my current daycare. It sounds like you need to have a heart to heart talk with the provider. Let her know just how unhappy you are. Sometime I think that takes care of a lot. Plus it starts the road towards you leaving if you need to. You have also been there long enough now, it could have been a bad day or week. We all have them, something else goes bad and you end up taking it out on the wrong people. Maybe a talk and a fresh start will solve the problem.
If you decide to move to another provider tell your current provider how unhappy you are. She may just let you out of the contract at that. Nobody wants to be dealing with an unhappy customer all the time. Life and money are just not worth it. Plus the old saying "the customer is always right" comes into play. It is often better to let you leave then to make you stay and talk negatively about the place.
If she won't let you go with that you may need to do some work. Most contracts have "out clauses" if either side is not doing the job. You may want to keep track of the when she is not giving your son his medications. Look for what else she is forgetting about. Right it all down. Then at some point you should have enough that you can show it to her and move on. This you may need to research your contract and talk to a professional to be sure. Now I will say it always best to give some notice too. Something like 2 weeks, this way the provider is not just left out to dry and get angry. If she can find somebody to replace you she should be happy.
I hope some of this helps.

Most licensed daycares have a clause that says if you give them a two week written notice, you can be realeased from your contract. Read the contract and policies and see what her rules are. When it comes to your children, you have to protect them first. If they aren't being treated well, you have to leave. I can't imagine what they are going through when you aren't there. I don't like to recommend this but if she is a licensed childcare provider, she has a licensing agency. You need to contact her licenser and I bet you will get immediate help.
