Insurance for Daycare Providers

From time to time I receive inquiries from daycare providers about obtaining liability insurance coverage. I'm curious to know if any of you have insurance; and if so, what are the rates like. I looked into this for myself awhile back, but the coverage was too expensive and more geared towards large commercial businesses. I need help on this please!

For those of you interested in obtaining insurance for your home-based daycare be sure you give specific information to various insurance companies about the exact coverage you are looking for. We have discovered that many of you who describe that you're running a daycare business from home get lumped into a commercial classification. You should specify that this business is home based and NOT a commercially zoned daycare. This should help obtain the correct pricing. FYI, my wife and I received quotes for 300,000 in liability coverage (a modest sum) for $200/year. I would recommend more than that, but I'm also not an attorney. Good luck!
